- Do I need a supply upgrade?
- Rarely. Modern chargers include load management, which balances charge rate against household demand.
- Which chargers do you install?
- We install every major brand — Ohme, Zappi, EO, Wallbox and others. We'll recommend the right fit for your car and setup.
- How much does it cost to install an EV charger?
- A standard 7kW home charger installation in Surrey and South West London is typically £900–£1,300 supplied and fitted, or £450–£650 for installation only if you supply the unit.
- How long does the installation take?
- Most installations are completed in 3–5 hours on a single visit, including commissioning, app setup and certification.
- Can I charge from a normal socket instead?
- Only as an occasional fallback. A three-pin lead charges at roughly 2.3kW and is not designed for daily sustained load. A dedicated 7kW charger is around three times faster and far safer.
- Do you handle the DNO notification?
- Yes. We notify your Distribution Network Operator as part of the installation, along with the electrical certification.
- Can the charger go on a wall away from the consumer unit?
- Usually yes. We plan the cable route at survey — longer runs, trenching to a detached garage or routing around the property add to the cost but are quoted up front.
