FAQ

Common questions.

How much does fault finding cost?
A minimum call-out covers the first hour of diagnostics — typically £90–£120 in Surrey and South West London. Once the fault is identified we quote a fixed price for the repair before starting.
Can you attend today?
For active faults we do our best to attend same-day or the next working morning.
Why does my RCD keep tripping?
Usually a faulty appliance, water ingress in an outdoor circuit, a damaged cable, or accumulated earth leakage across several circuits. Testing isolates which circuit is responsible rather than guessing.
Why do my lights flicker or dim?
Common causes are incompatible LED drivers and dimmers, a loose neutral connection, or a shared circuit under heavy load. A loose connection is a fire risk and should be checked promptly.
I can smell burning near a socket — what should I do?
Switch the circuit off at the consumer unit, unplug anything on it and call us. A burning smell usually means a loose terminal or overheating accessory and needs same-day attention.
Do you charge if you can't find the fault?
The diagnostic time is chargeable, but it rarely ends there — systematic testing identifies the fault in the vast majority of visits, and we explain exactly what we found.
