Common questions.
- Can you install downlights without lifting the whole ceiling?
- In most cases yes. We plan cable routes to minimise damage and leave any patch-work ready for redecoration.
- Do you supply the fittings?
- We can supply, or fit fittings you've chosen — we'll advise on driver, dimming and IP compatibility.
- How much does it cost to fit downlights?
- In Surrey and South West London, expect around £60–£90 per downlight fitted on an existing circuit, or £550–£900 for a full room scheme including a new circuit, dimming and certification.
- How many downlights does a room need?
- As a guide, one downlight per 1.2–1.5 square metres for general lighting, adjusted for ceiling height and beam angle. We plan the layout on site rather than working to a fixed grid.
- Can you install outdoor and garden lighting?
- Yes. Driveway, path, wall and garden schemes on IP-rated fittings, on their own protected circuit with timers, sensors or app control.
- Will new lighting need Building Control notification?
- New circuits and bathroom or outdoor work are notifiable. We handle the notification under our NAPIT registration and issue certification on completion.
